Silicon Europe Alliance welcomes Bavarian Chips Alliance as new partner cluster
Silicon Europe is pleased to welcome the Bavarian Chips Alliance as a new partner cluster, further strengthening Europe’s cross-regional cooperation in semiconductors and digital technologies.
The Bavarian Chips Alliance brings together experts along the entire semiconductor value chain, from chip design and photonics to artificial intelligence and future computing technologies. The alliance is part of the Bavarian Semiconductor Initiative of the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy and is embedded in Bavaria’s well-established cluster and innovation ecosystem at Bayern Innovativ.
A key focus of the Bavarian Chips Alliance lies in fostering innovation transfer from science to industry, supporting cross-sector knowledge exchange, and addressing strategic challenges such as supply chain resilience, skills development, and sustainability in the semiconductor and electronics industries.
By joining Silicon Europe, the Bavarian Chips Alliance strengthens transnational collaboration between leading European semiconductor ecosystems and contributes to a shared goal: building a competitive, resilient, and future-proof European semiconductor landscape.
Jürgen Frickinger, Head of Bavarian Chips Alliance:
“By joining Silicon Europe, we look forward to close cooperation and strategic networking with partners across Europe. In addition to shaping a semiconductor ecosystem for Bavaria, we are grateful that this partnership also enables us to actively shape European initiatives, as we see this as an important opportunity to secure growth, visibility, and influence at the European level,”
With the Bavarian Chips Alliance joining the network, Silicon Europe further expands its geographical and technological footprint – reinforcing the role of clusters as key enablers of Europe’s technological sovereignty.
