Recommendations for the European Chips Act 2.0 by Silicon Europe Alliance
The Silicon Europe Alliance (SEA) has published its Recommendations for the European Chips Act 2.0, outlining key actions needed to strengthen Europe’s position in the global semiconductor landscape. As technological cycles accelerate and geopolitical dependencies increase, Europe must reinforce its capabilities across the entire chip value chain – from research and pilot lines to manufacturing, skills, and strategic international cooperation.
The new SEA paper highlights six core recommendations:
- Empowering cluster participation in ECA governance
- Closing the lab‑to‑fab gap
- Expanding strategic manufacturing and securing critical value chains
- Developing a future‑ready semiconductor workforce
- Enhancing Europe’s competitiveness
- Broadening international partnerships to secure resilient supply chains
These recommendations underline the importance of a comprehensive, long‑term European Chips Strategy that aligns national efforts with EU‑wide objectives to build technological sovereignty and robust, sustainable supply chains.
We invite companies, research institutions, and stakeholders across Europe to share and distribute this paper among their networks if they support our recommendations.
