During the EU-Taiwan Event on Industry of the Future, Silicon Europe Worldwide had a special part in organizing a seminar on Smart Manufacturing where European and Taiwanese companies and research institutes presented their latest products, services or research.

From June 26 to 27, the European Commission, the European Cluster Collaboration Platform and Silicon Europe Worldwide jointly organized the EU-Taiwan Event on Industry of the Future in Brussels. The Taiwanese delegation comprised more than 100 people including represantatives from government, industry associations, major research institutes and universities as well as large enterprises and SMEs.The European side was represented by the same variety and number of people.

The first day was mainly about connecting European and Taiwanese cluster organizations with C2C meetings.(In Taiwan, the "European concept" of cluster does not exist though. They rather have bigger industry associations representing a whole industry than regional clusters.) Moreover, there was a panel discussion on "Success stories in promoting EU-Taiwan cluster cooperations" led by Johan Lecocq, project coordinator of Silicon Europe Worldwide.

On the second day, three different seminars were held on Circular Economy, 5G and Smart Manufacturing, where European companies had the opportunity to present their solutions. The Smart Manufacturing Seminar focused on regulations and technologies regarding human-robot collaborations and the digital support for smart manufacturing meaning IoT. It was led by Silicon Europe Worldwide and included several of its members such as Advantech, Cisco, Siemens and T-Systems as well as the German SME Fabmatics which is specialized in robotics.

After the seminars, there was a scheduled B2B Matchmaking in the premises and an evening reception in the royal palace of Brussels to conclude the event. On the following day, June 28, the Business Connection Forum took place which was also organized by SIlicon Europe Worldwide.
