European Semiconductor Regions Alliance: Chairmenship Handover Event
On 8 November, a ceremony was held to hand over the presidency of the European Semiconductor Regions Alliance (ESRA) from the Saxony region to the Piedmont region. The association, founded in March 2023 by 27 regions (today 35), aims to support the expansion and diversification of the chip sector in the European Union and help strengthen Europe as a key player in global competition.
The event was enriched by a panel discussion ESRA & Chips Act – A discussion on how to strengthen collaboration with moderated by Guido Ceresole of Mesap Cluster and dedicated to the future of semiconductors in which we have been represented by our President Erasmia Dupenloup (Minalogic).
The panel included member of EU and Italian institutions such as Zeno Tornasi (Policy Officer, EU Commission, DG Connect, Microelectronics and Photonics industry Unit), Luca De Angelis (Ministry for enterprises and Made in Italy, Director for new enabling technologies and member of Chips JU Public Authority Board) as well as electronics association as EPoSS represented by Roberto Zafalon.
As Silicon Europe Alliance, we are particularly proud to have facilitated and supported the emergence of this alliance, creating fertile ground for European regions to put the semiconductor issue at the centre of their agenda. We look forward to collaborate with ESRA to support EU semiconductor ecosystem!
