Silicon Europe at SEMICON Taiwan 2023: European semiconductor industry on a global stage

  • Silicon Europe was well represented during SEMICON Taiwan 2023.

SEMICON Taiwan 2023, one of the most important semiconductor industry events in Asia, took place from 4 to 6 September at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center. Among the many participants from all over the world, Silicon Europe was also present to represent the European semiconductor industry and explore business opportunities.

Silicon Europe Alliance, the European initiative to promote the semiconductor and electronics industry, was represented at SEMICON Taiwan 2023 at several booths through its partner clusters:

  • A joint booth run by Silicon Saxony/German Trade Office Taipei and Hightech NL/Holland Hightech with participation of over 30 Dutch and German companies and regular company presentations
  • A Czech booth with six companies and Silicon Europe’s newest member Czech National Semiconductor Cluster
  • The first joint UK booth ever – with nearly 20 companies and CSconnected

The presence of these four national booths underlined the importance of Europe in the global semiconductor landscape.

Further Silicon Europe activities during SEMICON Taiwan

Frank Bösenberg, General Manager of Silicon Saxony, took the opportunity to present Silicon Europe during the EU-Taiwan Investment Partnership Forum on Semiconductor Clusters during the trade show. This strengthened the link between Europe and Taiwan and opened up new opportunities for cooperation and investment.

A highlight parallel to SEMICON Taiwan was undoubtedly the "French Semi Night" organized by the French Chamber of Commerce in Taiwan. Here, representatives of Silicon Europe came together to exchange ideas and discuss possible cooperation opportunities.

SEMICON Taiwan 2023 – Largest ever expo

SEMICON Taiwan 2023 was an impressive event showcasing the latest developments and technologies in the semiconductor industry. With a record number of exhibitors and visitors, the show demonstrated the strength and growth potential of this important industry. The event focused on topics such as advanced manufacturing technologies, 5G integration, artificial intelligence and other innovations that will shape the future of the semiconductor industry.

The participation of Silicon Europe and its members at SEMICON Taiwan 2023 underlined the importance of the European semiconductor industry on an international level. The diverse cooperation opportunities explored during the show promise a promising future for European companies in this dynamic and high-growth sector.

Silicon Eurocluster Project – Supporting the Internationalisation of SMEs

Silicon Europe remains committed to continuing to promote the European semiconductor industry and strengthen cooperation on a global level. Also, within the framework of the Silicon Eurocluster project which aims to boost the European SME’s access to global supply and value chains e.g. in Taiwan.
