Silicon Europe promotes collaborations with Taiwan at SEMICON Europa

  • Nadja Dehne (Silicon Saxony) presents Silicon Europe and its internationalization inititiative Silicon Europe Worldwide to the Taiwanese delegation led by TAITRA

Last Tuesday, the leading European trade fair for electronics development and production - productronica - started in the Bavarian state capital. With 1,200 exhibitors from 42 countries, it is one of the largest industry events worldwide. More than 40,000 visitors are expected in the Munich exhibition halls from 14 to 17 November. Also, to experience the first SEMICON Europa, Europe's largest semiconductor fair, taking place at productronica.

The merger of productronica with SEMICON Europa was a clever move, as much becomes clear in the first hours after the trade fair opens. Thousands of expert visitors flock through the nine packed trade fair halls of the Bavarian capital. For the first time this year also offers the companies of the semiconductor industry this great platform. The largest semiconductor trade fair in Europe united with one of the largest electronics trade fair on the continent. A combination that only promises advantages for developers, producers and customers of sophisticated microelectronics.

Several partners of Silicon Europe were on-site: Business Cluster Semiconductors and High Tech NL under the roof of the Holland Hightech booth; Minalogic, SCS Cluster and Silicon Alps on the Silicon Europe booth and Silicon Saxony with its own booth with more than 30 members.

Similar to last year's SEMICON Europa in Grenoble, a Taiwanese delegation led by TAITRA (Taiwan External Trade Development Council) vistited the fair. The Taiwanese non-profit organization arranged a forum for European and Taiwanese companies to meet on November 15th, called "2017 Taiwan Semiconductor and Electronic Equipment /Component Seminar and Matchmaking". The seminar and business matchmaking, leading 10 most famous Taiwanese semiconductor suppliers was organized to foster close partnerships with Silicon Europe Worldwide and excellent European companies.

On October 26 2016, Silicon Europe Worldwide and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) signed an MoU at SEMICON Europa in Grenoble. Both parties aim to further strengthen their cooperation in support of Taiwanese and European joint business and technological endeavours, particularly in the fields of micro- and nanoelectronics as well as Smart-X systems.
