Workshop on Education, Training and Skills in Brussels
The European Commission cordially invites you to a "Workshop on Education, Training and Skills: Connecting students and employers - the case of electronics" that will be held in Brussels on 13 October 2015 from 9h00 to 16h00. It is organised by Directorate A of the European Commission Directorate General for Communications Systems, Content and Technology. The workshop is held back-to-back with the workshop on 'Digital Skills and entrepreneurship in the Digital Revolution Era: from EU funding opportunities to job creation' which is part of the OPEN DAYS – European Week of Regions and Cities event.
At first, we will address the aims of the workshop, the key skills requirements for KETs focusing on micro-/nano electronics, students' choices and motivation to pursue a career in this field, and the sector skills alliance for electronics. The morning session will conclude with a panel discussion on the role of industry in sustaining the skills ecosystems. The afternoon World Café session will be an opportunity for interaction and discussions on the following topics: young people in the digital job world, a taxonomy of skills for electronics and fostering skills development. Should you be interested, please register as early as possible as, but no later than 12 October 2015, by using the following registration link.
Note that participation is free of charge. Travel costs will not be reimbursed.
